Create a Course

Learn how to create a course in KREDO, manage topics and pages, add content, and use course authoring tools.

Managers can create courses in KREDO using the course authoring tools and templates. After completing the course settings, you can add topics and pages, configure templates, add media, preview the course, and publish it.

Start Creating a Course

  1. From the Course Settings page, complete the required course settings.
  2. Select Create.
The Course Authoring page opens with a default Welcome page.

Note: The course authoring page uses a Left Pane for managing the course structure and a Right Panel for editing the selected page.

Manage the Course Structure

The Left Pane acts as the course Table of Contents (ToC). It allows you to organize the course into topics and pages.

By default, a new course contains one topic with the Welcome page.

You can create multiple topics, and each topic can contain multiple pages. Each page uses a template to display course content.

Add a Topic

Select Add Topic to create a new topic in the course.

Add a Page

Select Add Page under the relevant topic to add a new page.

When adding a page, select the template that best suits the content you want to create.

Manage a Page

Select the More menu (three dots) next to a page to access available actions, such as:

  • Edit
  • Duplicate
  • Generate Content
  • Delete

Resize the Left Pane

Select the Resizing icon to adjust the width of the Left Pane. Select the icon again to restore the original view.

View the Course on Different Devices

The course authoring page provides three device views:

  • Desktop
  • Palmtop
  • Mobile

Use these views to check how the course content appears on different screen sizes.

Use Course Creation Actions

The course authoring toolbar provides several actions for managing your work.

ActionDescription
Auto SaveAutomatically saves your work every 30 seconds when enabled.
UndoReverts the most recent addition or edit.
RedoRestores an action that was undone.
PreviewOpens a preview of the course before publishing.
Mobile PreviewGenerates a QR code that you can scan to view the course on a mobile device.
SaveManually saves your changes.
PublishOpens the options for publishing the course.

Edit Course Content

The Right Panel, also called the Edit panel, is where you enter and configure content for the selected template.

The language displayed in the authoring page is based on the Base Language selected under Course Info in Course Settings.

If the course has been translated into additional languages, those languages are available from the language dropdown.

Update Course Metadata

The Update Metadata option allows you to modify the course information and default messages displayed to learners.

Note: Course Metadata is available for both Courses and Assessments.

Customize Colors

You can customize the following course elements:

  • Body – Background color of the course content area.
  • Button – Color of buttons in the course.
  • Button Text – Text color on buttons.
  • Text – Default text color for course content.
  • Patch – Color used for highlighted sections or panels.
  • Header – Background color of the course header.
  • Header Text – Text color in the header.
  • Icon – Color of icons used in the course.
  • Menu Background – Background color of the course menu.

Change the Font

Under Font Family, select the font to use throughout the course.

Important: Changes made through Update Theme are applied across the pages and topics in the course and can override theme settings configured during course creation.

If a standard theme is shared by multiple courses, updating that standard theme can affect other courses using the same theme. To avoid unintended changes, create and save a separate theme from the Themes section in Course Settings.

For changes that should apply only to an individual page, use the formatting options available within that template.
