Update Course Metadata
The Update Metadata option allows you to update the basic information, messages, navigation prompts, and language settings of a course.
Note: Course Metadata is available for both Courses and Assessments.
Update Metadata
In the course authoring interface, select Update Metadata.
The following metadata sections are available:
Course Details
Use Course Details to update the basic information displayed for the course.
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Course Name* | The title of the course. |
| Course Description* | A short description or summary of the course. |
Completion & Result Messages
Use this section to define the messages displayed to learners based on their course completion and results.
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Completion Message* | Message displayed when the learner completes the course. |
| Pass Message* | Message displayed when the learner passes the course. |
| Fail Message* | Message displayed when the learner does not pass the course. |
| Score Result* | Displays the learner's score. |
Course Navigation Prompts
Use this section to configure the prompts displayed when learners start, exit, or resume a course.

| Exit Prompt* | Message displayed when the learner chooses to exit the course. |
| Start Prompt* | Message displayed before the learner starts the course. |
| Resume Prompt* | Message asking the learner to confirm whether they want to resume the course. |
| Resume Yes/No Buttons* | Labels for the options displayed when resuming the course. |
Course UI Labels & Status
Use this section to customize labels and status messages displayed in the course interface.

| Start Button* | Text displayed on the Start button. |
| Course Menu Label* | Label displayed for the course menu. |
| Course Saving Status* | Message displayed while the course is being saved. |
| Calculation Status* | Message displayed while scores are being calculated. |
Language Options
Use this section to configure the language selection options available to learners.

| Language Selector* | Dropdown used to select the course language. |
| Language Selector Instruction* | Instruction text displayed for the language selector. |
Save the Metadata
After making the required changes, select Update Metadata to save the changes.
Tip: Review all required fields before selecting Update Metadata.
