Group Summary Calculations
The Group Summary uses learning activity and points data to calculate group performance metrics, including the Leading Learner and Total Points Earned.
Leading Learner
The Leading Learner is the learner who has earned the highest total points within a group.
Total points are calculated from the points earned for completed courses.
Calculation
Total Points Earned = Sum of Points from All Completed Courses
Where:
- Total Points Earned is the sum of points earned by the learner.
- Points from Completed Courses are the points awarded for each completed course.
Example
| Learner | Completed Courses | Points per Course | Total Points Earned |
|---|---|---|---|
| Learner A | 3 | Course 1 = 50, Course 2 = 30, Course 3 = 20 | 100 |
| Learner B | 2 | Course 1 = 40, Course 2 = 35 | 75 |
Calculation:
- Learner A:
50 + 30 + 20 = 100 - Learner B:
40 + 35 = 75
Since Learner A has the highest total points, Learner A is identified as the Leading Learner.
Total Points Earned for a Learner
The Total Points Earned represents the combined points earned by a learner from all completed courses within a specific group.
Calculation
Total Earned Points = Sum of Points Earned from All Completed Courses
Where:
- Total Earned Points is the learner's combined points.
- Points from Completed Courses are the points earned for each successfully completed course.
Example
| Learner | Group | Completed Courses | Points per Course | Total Points Earned |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Learner A | Group Y | 4 | Course 1 = 60, Course 2 = 50, Course 3 = 40, Course 4 = 30 | 180 |
| Learner B | Group Y | 3 | Course 1 = 70, Course 2 = 60, Course 3 = 40 | 170 |
Calculation:
- Learner A:
60 + 50 + 40 + 30 = 180 - Learner B:
70 + 60 + 40 = 170
In Group Y, Learner A has the higher total points and would therefore be identified as the Leading Learner.
