Creating a Discussion

Starting a Discussion

If there are no active discussions, or you want to initiate a new topic, follow these steps:

1. On the Discussion page, click Start A Discussion.
2. Enter the discussion title in the Discussion Title field and select a value in the Select Type field:
   • Public: Makes the discussion publicly available.
   • Course: Restricts the discussion to learners who have access to a specific course. Select the relevant course in the Course field.
   • Group: Restricts the discussion to a specific group. Select the relevant group in the Group field.
3. Enter a description for the discussion. You can:
   • Format the description using the available formatting options.
   • Add an attachment using the relevant attachment icon.
   • Include a video by selecting one of the following options:
     • Record a Video
     • Upload a Video
     • Enter a Video URL
4. Click Create at the bottom of the description box.
5. A success message confirms that the discussion has been created successfully.
6. The new discussion appears in the discussion list.
