Define Course Settings
Admins can configure the settings of a course before creating and publishing its content. Course settings include course information, content options, completion criteria, images, themes, and advanced configuration.
Open Course Settings
- From the Admin Dashboard, select the Courses icon.
The Courses page displays the available courses, assessments, and learning paths.Note: If no courses have been created, No Course(s) found is displayed.
- To create a new course, select Create and then select New Course.
To configure an existing course, select the relevant course tile.
Enter Course Information
Under Course Info, provide the basic details of the course.
- In Title, enter the name of the course.
- In Description, enter a brief description of the course.
- In Duration, specify the expected course duration.
The duration is used for reporting purposes. For example, if a course is configured for 10 minutes but a learner takes 15 minutes to complete it, the difference is reflected in reports. - In Tags, enter relevant keywords for the course.
Tags help learners search for and find courses.Note: Separate multiple tags with commas.
- In Base Language, select the primary language in which the course will be authored.
Only one base language can be selected.
The base language determines the language used to create the course content. If the course is authored directly in another supported language, you do not need to create the course in English and translate it separately.Note: If the course does not require translation into additional languages, you do not need to enable the Language Selector in Course Configuration.
- In Category, select the appropriate category for the course.
Categories help organize courses and can appear as sections on the learner dashboard when categorized courses are assigned to users. - In Skill, select the relevant skill associated with the course.
- Configure the Number of Attempts, if applicable.
Once the maximum number of attempts is reached, learners cannot access the course again and are prompted to contact the administrator. - Select Continue.
The Course Configuration section opens.
