Percentage Calculation for Classroom Summary

Learn how the key percentages in the Classroom Summary are calculated, with formulas and examples.

The Classroom Summary uses various calculations to provide insights into learner attendance, engagement, assessment performance, and improvement.

Average Users Attended per Classroom

This metric represents the average number of learners who attended each classroom session.

Formula

Average Users Attended per Classroom = Total Users Attended ÷ Total Classrooms Conducted

Example

  • Total Classrooms Conducted = 81
  • Total Users Attended = 1,296

Calculation:

1,296 ÷ 81 = 16

Therefore, the average number of users attending each classroom session is 16.

Average Groups Attended per Classroom

This metric represents the average number of learner groups that participated in each classroom session.

Formula

Average Groups Attended per Classroom = Total Groups Attended ÷ Total Classrooms Conducted

Example

  • Total Groups Attended = 6
  • Total Classrooms Conducted = 81

Calculation:

6 ÷ 81 = 0.074

Therefore, the average number of groups attending each classroom session is 0.074.

Attendance Percentage

The Attendance Percentage represents the percentage of enrolled learners who attended the classroom session.

Formula

Attendance Percentage = (Learners Attended ÷ Learners Enrolled) × 100

Example

Learners EnrolledLearners Attended
5040

Calculation:

(40 ÷ 50) × 100 = 80%

Therefore, 80% of the enrolled learners attended the session.

No-show Percentage

The No-show Percentage represents the percentage of enrolled learners who did not attend the classroom session.

Formula

No-show Percentage = (Learners Not Attended ÷ Learners Enrolled) × 100

Example

Learners EnrolledLearners Not Attended
5010

Calculation:

(10 ÷ 50) × 100 = 20%

Therefore, 20% of the enrolled learners did not attend the session.

Engagement Percentage — Overall Type

The Engagement Percentage represents the proportion of the classroom session that a learner attended.

Formula

Engagement Percentage = (Time Spent by Learner ÷ Session Duration) × 100

Example

Session DurationTime Spent by Learner
60 minutes45 minutes

Calculation:

(45 ÷ 60) × 100 = 75%

Therefore, the learner was engaged for 75% of the session duration.

Engagement Percentage — Detailed Type

For the Detailed type, the Engagement Percentage is calculated separately for each series, session, or non-series event.

Formula

Engagement Percentage = (Time Spent by Learner ÷ Event Duration) × 100

Example

Event DurationTime Spent by Learner
90 minutes30 minutes

Calculation:

(30 ÷ 90) × 100 = 33.33%

Therefore, the learner was engaged for 33.33% of the event duration.

Completion Rate

The Completion Rate represents the learner's score as a percentage of the maximum possible assessment score.

Formula

Completion Rate = (Points Scored ÷ Maximum Possible Points) × 100

Example

Maximum Possible PointsPoints Scored
10085

Calculation:

(85 ÷ 100) × 100 = 85%

Therefore, the learner achieved a completion rate of 85%.

Improvement Over Pre-assessment

The Improvement Over Pre-assessment represents the percentage increase in a learner's score from the pre-assessment to the post-assessment.

Formula

Improvement Over Pre-assessment = ((Post-assessment Score − Pre-assessment Score) ÷ Pre-assessment Score) × 100

Example

Pre-assessment ScorePost-assessment Score
4080

Calculation:

((80 − 40) ÷ 40) × 100 = 100%

Therefore, the learner's score improved by 100% after the classroom session.
