Creating a Course

Once the course settings are completed, the course creation commences where different templates come into the picture.

  1. To access the Courses page, click the Courses icon from the main menu.

  2. To access the Course Settings page, click the relevant course tile in the Courses page.

  3. To access the templates to create a new course, in the Course Settings page, after completing the course settings, click the Create button.

    • The only exception is when the Author wants to access the templates to continue course creation from where he/she left off earlier or to make course edits for an existing course, in the Courses page, click the relevant course tile. The Author is taken to the Course Settings page, and then click the Continue button. The Create button will not be available in this scenario.
  4. The default view with the Welcome title for the course is what appears when the Author moves from the Course Settings page to the course creation page. The left pane is where the various topic titles are added.

    • A topic within a course can have any number of pages (templates) added. To add a new page to an existing topic, click the Add Page button, the plus mark in the Green circle. Shown highlighted in Red.

    • To add another topic within the same course, click the Add Topic button. Shown highlighted in Red.

    • To resize the left pane, click the Resizing icon. Shown highlighted in Red.

      • To go back to the original view, click the the same Resizing icon.

    • When only one title is available, clicking the three dots as shown, gives the options to Edit and Duplicate the page (Template). Shown highlighted in Red.

    • When more than one title is available, clicking the three dots as shown, gives the options to Edit, Duplicate and Delete the page (Template). Shown highlighted in Red.

    • The course can be viewed in three modes. By default, the view is a desktop/laptop view. Shown highlighted in Red.

      • Desktop/Laptop

      • Palmtop

      • Mobile

    • To auto save the course creation work, after every 30 seconds, check the box Auto Save. Shown highlighted in Red.

    • To undo an action, click the Undo option. Shown highlighted in Red.

    • To redo an action, click the Redo option. Shown highlighted in Red.

      • The Redo option remains inactive the first time when the Author starts working on creating the course. Once the course is saved and then subsequent changes are made, the Redo option gets activated.
    • To preview the course before publishing, click the Preview option. Shown highlighted in Red.

    • To scan the QR Code using your mobile, click the QR Code option. Shown highlighted in Red.

      • The option shown appears. Scan this code using your mobile device to access the course, even before it gets published. Shown highlighted in Red.

    • To manually save the work being done, click the Save button. Shown highlighted in Red.

    • To save the work being done, click the Publish button. Shown highlighted in Red.

    • The option Themes as seen in the Course Settings page is also available in the course creation page, shown as Update Theme. To view the Course Theme, click the Update Theme button. Shown highlighted in Red.

      • The Course Theme options along with the Font Family field.

          • Shown highlighted in Red.

    • To edit the background of the entire course in one go, work on the section shown. Shown highlighted in Red. This is the default background image that appears on the course creation page.

      • Deleting the default background image will change the view to the color chosen in the Body option under Themes in the Course Settings page. If the earlier image or a new image needs to be added as the background, click the Add Background button. Shown highlighted in Red.

Course Templates

The Author can choose from over 40 different templates that are split between Charts, Concepts, Content, Gamified and Question. To view all the templates, click the Add Page icon. Shon highlighted in Red.

By default, the Author is taken to the Chose a Template page, under the option All. The view below shows the options in the order All, Charts, Concept, Content, Gamified and Question.

Clicking the option Charts, shows the various chart templates.

Clicking the option Concept, shows the various concept templates. Use the scroll bar to scroll down and view the other options under concept. The concept templates in this view are Accordion, Card Expand, Carousel, and Conversation. The text in Yellow under each template indicates the number of times this template has been used. This view is applicable across all the templates in the platform.

The concept templates in this view are Download Document, Flip Card, Hotspots, and Image & Slider Text.

The concept templates in this view are Image Pop-up, Image Scanner, Scratch Card, and Tabs.

The concept templates in this view are Text Slider, Text Comparison, and Text with Image Slider.

Clicking the option Content, shows the various templates are content. Use the scroll bar to scroll down and view the other options under content. The content templates in this view are Bullet List, History, Horizontal List, and Image with Label.

The content templates in this view are Image with Custom Patch and Content, Introduction, Numbered List and Record Video.

The content templates in this view are Scroll View, Tabular Representation, Text Image Text and Upload Video.

The content templates in this view are Welcome and YouTube Video.

Clicking the option Gamified, shows the various templates are gamified. The gamified templates in this view are Basketball, Color Connect, Find a Word, and Match the Cards.

The gamified templates in this view are Shoot the Birds, Shooting Aliens, Spin and Win, and Swipe Right/Left.

Clicking the option Question, shows the various templates are question. Use the scroll bar to scroll down and view the other options under question. The question templates in this view are Agree/Disagree, Drag and Drop, Drag and Fill in the Blanks, and Multiple Choice.

The question templates in this view are Multiple Choice with Images, Select Dropdown, Single Choice, and Slider.

The question templates in this view are Sort and Typing Activity.

An Author can also request for a new template. To do so, click the Request A Template option. Shown highlighted in Red.

In the Request A Template pop-up, add the description of the template you are making a request for, attach a design of the template in mind. Click the Submit button. The KREO Support Team will receive your request and keep you posted on the next steps. Any request on template design will be taken up on the priority of existing requests and business criticality.
