Remediation

What is Remediation?

Remediation in layman terms means reteaching any sort of a content that the learners previously failed to understand owing to which they chose or wrote an incorrect answer for an assessment or a quiz. It is recommended that a remediation is done for every such scenario before letting the learner go ahead with new topic or skills. In KREDO, this capability is available for all the templates in Gamified and Question. This isn't mandatory but preferable to have to give the learner a learning experience which always results in a positive outcome.

A remediation can be a any of the three that a learner is redirected to:

  1. A Web Link
  2. A PDF
  3. A Page inside the Course

Let's look at an example of how a remediation works. Consider, setting a remediation for the Agree/Disagree template under Question. Add the Agree/Disagree template as told in the sub-section Selecting Templates under Couse Authoring and Publishing. View the Remediation field. Shown highlighted in Red. In this scenario, a page is chosen for the learner to go back to in case this question is incorrectly answered.

In the view below, you'll notice all the pages in this specific course and we choose one of them.

Preview the course as told in the sub-section Content Creation under Couse Authoring and Publishing and come to the page where the question needs to be answered for which the remediation has been set.

Choose the incorrect answer and then click the Next button.

The screen tells the learner that they have answered incorrectly and now need to go through the remediation. Shown highlighted in Red.

The learner is taken to the page where the redirection was meant to go to revise the content. Click the X mark on the top left hand corner of the page.

Once the learner clicks the X mark on the top left hand corner of the page, he/she is taken back to the page where the remediation was initiated. Click the Redo icon to go through the assessment. Shown highlighted in Red.

In this scenario, choose the correct answer and then click the Next button.

The learner now gets to the page indicating that the answer is correct.

In a similar manner, instead of a page, the learner can access and read a PDF or can access and go through content in a specific URL. The PDF accessed through a remediation cannot be downloaded.

The below steps indicate where in the templates for Gamified and Question, a remediation can be set. There can be multiple remediations in a single course.
