Assignment Pro Evaluation Criteria Calculation
Note: This feature is accessible only to users for whom it has been enabled.
The Assignment Pro Evaluation Criteria calculates a learner's score based on the ratings assigned to each evaluation criterion.
Each criterion includes:
- Minimum Rating – The lowest rating that can be assigned.
- Maximum Rating – The highest rating that can be assigned.
- Total Score – The maximum points or weight assigned to the criterion.
- Learner's Rating – The rating assigned to the learner for the criterion.
Rating Range Calculation
The Rating Range determines the number of rating levels available between the minimum and maximum rating values.
Formula
Rating Range = (Maximum Rating + 1) - Minimum Rating
The +1 ensures that the complete rating scale is included.
Example
If:
- Minimum Rating = 1
- Maximum Rating = 10
Then:
Rating Range = (10 + 1) - 1 = 10
This represents the 10 rating levels from 1 to 10.
Criteria-wise Score Calculation
The Criteria-wise Score calculates the score earned by the learner for an individual criterion based on the learner's rating and the total score assigned to that criterion.
Formula
Criteria-wise Score = (Learner's Rating / Rating Range) × Total Score
Where:
- Learner's Rating = Rating assigned to the learner.
- Rating Range =
(Maximum Rating + 1) - Minimum Rating. - Total Score = Maximum points or weight assigned to the criterion.
Example
For Criterion 1:
- Minimum Rating = 1
- Maximum Rating = 10
- Learner's Rating = 8
- Total Score = 5
Step 1: Calculate the Rating Range
Rating Range = (10 + 1) - 1 = 10
Step 2: Calculate the Criteria-wise Score
Criteria-wise Score = (8 / 10) × 5 = 4
Therefore, the learner earns a score of 4 out of 5 for Criterion 1.
Overall Score Calculation
The Overall Score represents the learner's total performance across all evaluation criteria as a percentage.
Formula
Overall Score = (Sum of Learner's Criteria-wise Scores / Sum of Total Scores) × 100
Where:
- Learner's Criteria-wise Scores = Scores earned for each criterion.
- Total Scores = Maximum possible scores for all criteria combined.
Example
Suppose an Assignment Pro has two criteria:
| Criterion | Total Score | Learner's Rating | Rating Range | Criteria-wise Score |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | 5 | 8 | 10 | (8 / 10) × 5 = 4 |
| 2 | 8 | 8 | 10 | (8 / 10) × 8 = 6.4 |
Step 1: Calculate the total learner score
4 + 6.4 = 10.4
Step 2: Calculate the total possible score
5 + 8 = 13
Step 3: Calculate the Overall Score
Overall Score = (10.4 / 13) × 100 = 80%
Therefore, the learner's Overall Score is 80%.
